Indian Railways crosses mark of 500 MT freight loading on cumulative basis in first 4 months of this Financial Year

Indian Railways (IR) has crossed the mark of 500 MT freight loading on a cumulative basis, yet again, in the first four months of this Financial Year. From April-July 2023, freight loading of 507.7 MT has been achieved against the last year loading of 501.55 MT, an improvement of 1.23 per cent over last year loading. Railways have earned Rs 55459 crore against Rs 53731 crore over the last year which is an improvement of 3.22 per cent as compared to the same period last year. Under the National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm, the state governments along with Oil Palm processing companies initiated a 'Mega Oil Palm Plantation Drive' that commenced on July 25 to further promote and increase oil palm cultivation, making the country and its farmers ‘Atma-Nirbhar’ in edible oils production. This will further assist in achieving the target of bringing an additional area of 6.5 lakh ha. under oil palm production by 2025-26. MOIL achieves record-breaking production and sales in July

MOIL Limited, the largest producer of manganese ore in India, has recorded its best-ever performance for the month of July since its inception. The company produced 1.20 lakh tonnes of manganese ore in July 2023, registering a remarkable growth of 71 per cent compared to the same period last year. This is the highest-ever July production achieved by MOIL in its history. MOIL Limited has also recorded its best-ever sales of 0.94 lakh tonnes in July 2023, witnessing an impressive growth of 69 per cent over the corresponding period last year. The sales performance reflects the strong demand for manganese ore in the domestic and international markets.

NHPC records highest ever Quarter-I Standalone Profit after Tax

NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company, has reported its highest ever Quarter-I Standalone Profit after Tax (PAT) of Rs 1,053 crore for the financial year 2023-24, against PAT of Rs 1050 crore for the corresponding previous quarter. The NHPC Board approved the Q-1 FY23-24 results in their meeting held on August 11. NHPC’s total installed capacity is 7097.2 MW of renewable power (including Wind & Solar) through its 25 power stations including 1520 MW through subsidiaries.
